This bulletin represents form 5726 in describing proper pinion position for the mode 60 front

and rear axles. This form (5726) is included in the pinion adjustment shim package

(701126X, which are included in the drive gear and pinion assembly kits, 707345-2X, or

707345-1X.

Axle assemblies are manufactured with a selective adjustment shim/slinger between the inner

pinion bearing cone and pinion gear head. However, they may be serviced using the selective

shim/slinger and/or shims placed in the carrier bore behind the inner pinion bearing cup. Refer to

your vehicle service manual for proper procedures in determining the amount of shims required.
